Bow Tattoo Meanings

The bow tattoo is becoming a popular feminine inked choice. The design, size, colors and locations are being chosen to reflect a variety of personal meanings, depending on where they are being inked. This style is being creatively designed to reflect the meaning or location on the body. Bows have been used culturally in many ways to visually express a sediment or meaning or practicality. Bows often have a feminine flavor of representation, perhaps one of the reasons why they are being chosen for inking.

The traditional dictionary explanation is that a bow is formed by using a cloth or string, tied in a way that has curved parts on either side with two loose ends. A classic visual example of this is looking at shoe laces after they have been tied. Women have worn bows in their hair both as a decoration and often in securing or tying their hair.

To the gift giver, often a bow is one way of fancying up the presentation and used as a visual acknowledgment to the receiver, that it is a present. A now common visual symbol of a gift.

Bows have been used to represent as a reminder to not leave the past behind, as in the saying "Forget me knot".

Often yellow ribbons are tied around trees with a big bow, to display a representation that family & friends are waiting and honoring a return of a loved one, from a journey or war.

They are sometimes used to symbolize an accomplishment in life and how it could become untied through circumstances and fragility.
In the clothing fashion industry bows have been used in many different styles from the head to the toe. Some styles incorporate a physical bow and others have used a bow printed material. The classic mens' formal wear is often represented with a bow tie.

Sometimes cartoon characters are represented with a bow placement, to visually represent that the character is female.

Bow ribbons are often worn or displayed. A pink ribbon for example is known to symbolize or represent a fight against breast cancer. It can be a visual expression of supporting family or friends in a overcoming breast cancer. Or sadly represent a loss of a family member or loved one to breast cancer.

Bow tattoos designs from loud to delicate have been used on the body to represent jewelery on toes and fingers. On the back of legs, where the old style garter clips would have been located, some women are choosing to have a bow inked. Others have chosen to have a ribbon wrapping around their ankle tied in a bow inked.

Feminine twists are being designed that incorporates a bow on traditional skull, cross & bones and designs that were more originally masculine.

Perhaps the appeal of bow tattoos, to the one choosing to have it inked on their body, is the variety and versatility of possible meanings it could have or represent for them, with a feminine creative twist.

Easy Dog Toys - Make a Dog Chew Toy

It's easy to make your own dog chew toy and when it's worn out, just make another one. Here are five different varieties of a homemade dog toy that your dog will love to chew on.

Braided Fleece Chew Toy:

This dog chew can be made from fleece scraps or just purchase a bit of fleece from a fabric store.

Cut the fleece into the length you want the chew toy, normally a longer one for a larger dog and shorter for a small dog.

Fold the fleece in half. Fold the fleece salvage to salvage so the strips are cut in the same direction as the fabric stretches.

Cut three strips that are three to four inches wide. Lay the strips out side by side lengthwise. Fold them in a tubular shape to hide the rough cut edges. Start in the center and braid the three strips together about 8 inches long for a handle.

Then fold each strip in half and match it up with it's other end. Tightly braid the 3 folded strips all the way to the end. Tie the whole chew toy in a tight knot above the ends. Trim the end of the chew toy.

Dish Towel Chew Toy:

Three dish towels and a pair of scissors will create a fast chew toy. Cut an inch wide strip of towel off the short end of two of the dish towels. Gather the three towels together and use one of the inch wide strips you cut to tie the three towels on one end. Now braid the dish towels together and tie the remaining end with the other inch wide strip.

Ball Sock Chew Toy:

Use a long tube sock and put a tennis ball inside the sock toe. Create a knot in the sock above the ball and continue making knots up the sock. This is a fun one to play tug of war with.

Octopus Sock Chew Toy:

All you need for this chew toy is nine old socks, Using an old t-shirt for stuffing, stuff the longest sock up to the ankle. Put a tennis ball in the toe of the other eight socks. Tie each sock at the ankle.

Tie all the socks together. Put the stuffed sock at the top as the body of the octopus and the socks with the tennis balls need to hang off as legs. Use markers to draw an octopus face on the stuffed sock.

Easy Rope Chew Toy:

Here's the easiest dog toy ever. Use an old rope and tie a few tight knots at each end. Voila, a great chew toy. Fetch!

Kidney Infection Or Lower Back Pain? How To Distinguish Between The Two

Back pain is a part of our lives and can affect anyone at any point in time. Back pain may occur periodically, remain for a short time, and then quickly disappear. This is known as acute back pain and can be taken care of with medication and rest. The pain would be deemed chronic back pain when it remains for over three months. Many people are on constant medication for back pain.

However, if you are experiencing back pains near the kidney area, its time to pay a visit to the doctor. Kidney infection may cause pain, which is similar to lower back pain. The kidneys are located on either side of the spinal column just above the hip. That is why any kind of pain in that area may be diagnosed as kidney infection. The pain originates in the kidney and radiates to the lower back. This is known as referred pain. Therefore, very often kidney infection is confused with lower back pain.

So how does one distinguish between pain caused by kidney infection and lower back pain? One symptom is that pain due to kidney infection comes on rapidly and disappears once the course of medication is over. With back pain, the pain continues even after the infection has cleared up. The symptoms of kidney infection or kidney stone could be pain during urination, blood in the urine or fever with accompanying chills. If the doctor presses on the kidneys at the time of physical examination, there will be shooting pain in the area. If, on the other hand, you have a stretched, torn or twisted muscle, the pain will be specific to the area. The pain may occur either in the lower back, or between shoulder blades, below the waist or over the spinal column. This type of pain will get worse with movement and ease away while resting. Kidney infection can be safely ruled out in this scenario.

If you happen to suffer from kidney infection, the pain will occur on one side of the back, above the waist but just below the rib cage. The pain may increase as the bladder gets full or it may travel to the genital area. During the time you may have bouts of vomiting, pain while urination, blood in the urine and even fever. Lower back pain could be another symptom of kidney infection. These are general guidelines, which give an idea how to diagnose the pain in the lower back area. If you still are not sure what you are dealing with, any such symptoms call for an urgent visit to the doctor. It is always better to be safe than sorry. If there is an earlier history of kidney infections, then there may be another attack coming on. On the other hand, it may just be a stretched back muscle. Therefore, it is better to visit the doctor so that he can make the proper diagnosis and begin treatment for the pain or kidney infection as the case may be. The kidney infection and resultant back pain will probably clear up with a dose of antibiotics. Lower back pain treatment may call for physiotherapy or medication in the form of pain relievers.

Black Toe Nail Fungus - What Causes Black Toe Nail Fungus and the Treatment

Black toe nail fungus has become is very common, especially for people who tend to walk around barefooted in public places. It is also very common among athletes and people over the age of 65. If you have black spot toenails, there are several reasons for it. This article will explain the reason why you have this problem and how you can treat it.

What Cause Black Toe Nail Fungus

People who play sports can easily bruise their toes while playing in the game, this can cause your nails to turn black. Some choose to wear their shoes with out socks or even while wearing them, if someone steps on their toes they can be easily bruised. Even if you are not a sports player, it is not impossible for you to have a nail fungus problem.

Most people develop nail infections by not wearing shoes, such as sandals, in public places. Wearing your shoes at the pool or in locker rooms can stop you from getting infected. Small cuts under your nails can cause your nails to become infected. If your feet sweat a lot, this can cause it also.

Black Toenail Treatment

Over the counter treatments for nail fungus are not very effective at all for treating your nails for fungus. So, there is really no point for you to waste your money on these products. Doctor recommended medications will fight the fungus, but they can cause serious side effects. They are known to cause kidneys and liver damage. Neither of these two treatments are recommended.

The best way for you to treat black spot on toenail is to use a natural treatment for toe fungus. People for some reason or another wants to soak their feet for hours at a time in Listerine or some other home remedies for toe nail fungus which may or may not work. There is a chance it might work, but is it cure for toe nail fungus. No! Because it is possible for the fungus to reoccur.

Black toe nail fungus should be taken seriously. If your nails are flaking, ugly, and they smell bad, you need to get something that is safe and is known to work. You need a product that will start to work fast in as little as 2 to 4 weeks. You may want to check with your doctor if it has gotten real bad. Finding such a product is not hard to do if you know where to look.

Flower Tattoos

For some strange reasons, I like designing flower tattoos more than others. Flower tattoos are mostly favored by women, they are like clothes accessories except that you can wear your tattoo to bed. It's like having a piece of art with you all the time. I find women with tattoos more appealing, sexier, more feminine and more powerful.

The image of a tattoo can be so captivating that it stirs up all our senses. You can have a Rose tattoo with a barbed wire around it and still look very good. It's Ying and Yang, loving and sweet but authoritative and intimidating. But if you are intending to ink a flower tattoo on your body, it's best to find out the meaning of the flower and what you want it to represent. You can then combine different images to give contrasting impressions of your tattoos.

I have compiled a list of meaning of flowers as a guide before you tattoo them on your body. I cannot vouch how official these meanings are, but my research has shown them to be fairly consistent. flower tattoos are permanent, so look around before deciding on one.

Pain Relief - What Causes Pain in the Sternum Or Side? Costochondritis - A Nurse's Guide

"What causes pain in the sternum or side?" is a question I'm often asked. And the first thing that always comes to mind is an injury to the rib cartilage called costochondritis. The first time people hear it they say, "What is that?" It's not a commonly heard term but hundreds of cases come into the emergency room every year. People often think they're having a heart attack. Costochondritis can also occur in the side where the ribs and cartilage connect to the rib cage.

When the sternum is involved costochondritis is an inflammation of the cartilage connecting to your breastbone. It's a common cause of chest pain. Mild to severe pain, tenderness and soreness near the breastbone (usually the upper left side) are symptoms, and the pain gets worse if you stretch or apply pressure to the area.

This pain can range from minor to severe. The pain doesn't go away easily and it's easy to reinjure the area. It doesn't usually hurt to continue moving around but can be painful to do so. People often seek immediate pain relief.

Your doctor will usually diagnose costochondritis by pressing on the area where the ribs meet the chest bone (sternum). If this area is tender and sore, costochondritis is the most likely cause of your sternum pain or chest pain. You want to make sure that costochondritis is the correct diagnosis and that it isn't heart-related. If you press on the areas yourself, do so very gently so you don't reinjure the area. If you don't have any other pain that radiates out to the neck or arms nor any numbness, chills or a fever than you are not likely to have a heart problem.

Do everything you can not to reinjure the area. Costochondritis often happens when people move furniture or other large items or in contact sports. Leaning over and picking up items out of reach can also cause it although that may happen with costochondritis in the sides more so.

Sometimes a rib belt can help. Make sure to stop doing whatever makes the pain worse.
Slowly return to regular activities.

Make sure to protect yourself so further inflammation doesn't take place. Sometimes costochondritis can become chronic if the area is injured over and over again. But generally it will get better in a few days. These are just a few of the things you can do to help heal faster and get pain relief.

Top 4 Ways of Getting Rid of Skin Tags at Home

You can always get a doctor to get rid of your skin tags; however, because it is generally considered a cosmetic problem, many insurance companies won't cover the procedure. This leaves you paying a large bill for what is considered a fairly simple process. Before you head off to the doctors office, why not try these simple home methods for getting rid of skin tags.

The first option you have for getting rid of your skin tags is to simply cut them off. It is important to note when doing this that there is a serious risk of infection if you use this method improperly. You should not only use brand new implements for this procedure, but you should also sterilize them first.

You can clean them either by soaking them in a sanitizer (the kind you clean yourself with, not your house) or putting them in fire for a minute or so. Just be sure to let them cool first if you put them in fire. You can clip off the skin tags with small scissors, but you may find it easier to use nail clippers. Simply snip the tag off at the bottom near the healthy skin. This sounds like it hurts a lot, but is generally not too painful. Be sure to have cotton balls or bandages around though, just in case you do bleed some.

Another method for skin tag removal is freezing them off. Doctors often use this method for getting rid of skin tags and warts, but products have come on the market in recent years for doing this at home. Simply find the product at a grocery store and follow the instructions. Because these kits are small and less effective than what a doctor uses, you should probably only consider this method for small tags.

The last home option available for getting rid of skin tags is to cut off their blood supply. This sounds slightly dangerous, but is probably the safest of the home removal options. In this method, you cut off the blood supply to the skin tag by tying string very tightly around the base of the tag.

Depending on the location of your skin tags, you will probably need help tying the string tight enough. Remember to use strong string and to tie it as tightly as possible. You will need to knot the string and keep in on for a few days. After the tag has been cut off from the blood supply, it will eventually die and simply fall off.

While these remedies may be effective for getting rid of skin tags, there are some instances where you should see a doctor instead. There are rare occasions where a skin tag can be malignant, so if you have one dramatically change size or color, you should see a doctor. You should also consult a doctor if anything goes wrong with the removal or if the entire tag doesn't come off. Again, remember to be safe, sterilize, and get someone to help you if you need it.

Deep Tissue Massage - Muscle Tendon & Ligament Relief

Deep Tissue Massage or myofascial release is a massage technique that focuses on releasing restrictions in the deeper layers of the muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Deep tissue massage releases chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas.

Using slow strokes and deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles not with the grain, deep tissue massage first warms the soft tissue before targeting deeper muscles groups.

Deep Tissue Massage - How Does it Work?

Deep tissue massage is both corrective and therapeutic. It uses two methods, direct or indirect and is effective in releasing deeply-held patterns of tension, removing toxins, relaxing and soothing muscles.

The direct method applies pressure to the muscle with the intention of finding resistance in the body, and maintaining the pressure until the resistance is released.

The indirect method moves in the opposite direction of the resistance.

With both techniques the amount of pressure applied is dependent on the amount of resistance.

Fingertips, knuckles, hands, elbows, and forearms are all used with long, slow strokes.

Because of the focus on a specific area some clients find deep tissue massage uncomfortable and it may
cause some soreness during or after.

Providing the massage is carried out correctly any soreness should disappear in a day or two.

Deep tissue massage does not require great strength, nor does it need to be painful and applying pressure for the sake of it can be ineffectual if done incorrectly.

Of the two methods, direct and indirect, there are many different combinations.

Some of the more well known include:-

o Polarity Therapy

o Thai Massage

o Triggerpoint Therapy

What are the benefits of a Deep Tissue Massage?

Unlike a regular relaxation massage, deep tissue massage works effectively on the skeletal structures that lie deep within the body.

Many people seek a deep tissue massage to help in treating crippling diseases, muscle, tendon and ligament injuries.

When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue.

Through controlled manual manipulation, deep tissue massage breaks down scar tissue and crystallization, loosens muscles, releases toxins and allows blood and oxygen to circulate properly.

It is important to drink plenty of water afterwards to flush away the toxins released during massage.

The key benefits of deep tissue massage include:

o Elimination of the blocks that cause muscle tightness

o Increases circulation of blood, lymph, cerebro-spinal and interstitial fluids

o Can resolve many chronic pain patterns by releasing deeply held emotions that cause tension

o Helps improve the functioning of the internal organs and any associated symptoms or diseases

o Improves posture and mobility

o Helps to reduce tension and the automatic reflexes to stress

How effective is Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep tissue massage can be very effective, but one has to be realistic about how much can be achieved in one session.

Simply asking for more pressure and thinking that if the therapist pushes hard enough, all tension will be released within an hour is unrealistic.

Chronic knots and tension built up over a lifetime can only be addressed with a series of treatments.

Most therapists will offer advice on a program that includes exercise, work on your posture, relaxation techniques and a regular program of massage.

Is Deep Tissue Massage Safe for Everyone?
As with most massage treatments, deep tissue massage is not recommended for certain people.

Massage should not be done directly over bruised or inflamed skin, open wounds, tumors, areas of recent fracture, abdominal hernia, rashes or skin disease.

It should also be avoided by:

o People with cardiovascular conditions and heart disease especially in cases of thrombosis, phlebitis and oedema

o Pregnant women and people with osteoporosis should consult their doctor before considering a massage

o Immediately after surgery

o Immediately after chemotherapy or radiation, unless recommended by your doctor

Deep Tissue Massage - Choosing a Therapist

When considering a deep tissue massage, ensure you choose a therapist you feel comfortable with and one that comes from a reputable organization.

Salons, spas, health and fitness clubs typically offer deep tissue massage, or you contact a mobile spa and have a deep tissue massage in the comfort of your own home.

How To Make Homemade Catfish Bait

I'm a catfish lover by nature and here I'll show you how to make catfish baits that will help you reel in the fattest of cats. I'm constantly at the lake with a lot of lines in the water at all times. Whether through the warm months of summer or into the depths of a frigid winter, I can show you how to reel in a cat no matter what the weather forecast with my time-tested homemade catfish baits.

Many new catfishermen think that you have to buy catfish bait from the local bait shop. Yet as time passes, you'll come to realize that most guys lugging in the heavier cats are fishing with baits that they make at home. These homemade catfish bait recipes are what sets the men apart from the boys. Catfish seem to like a variety of different baits throughout the year. What may work one day in reeling in the fat cats may leave you coming home empty-handed the next. An important note is to keep track of local conditions. Introduce yourself to other local fisherman and find out what the catfish are biting on on a daily basis. I, along with many other cat lovers have always caught more catfish, more often than not, when chumming. Chumming is basically pre-baiting an area with small bits of the same type of bait you are fishing with for the day. If you're fishing with tuna, then a tuna chum should be used to draw the catfish into the area of water you plan to fish. Now I know you're ready to get your hands wet, so to speak, so on to the catfish bait recipes.

How To Make Catfish Bait - Homemade Recipes

The simplest of all cat fish bait recipes is the age-old hot dog. Simply cut up the hot dogs into one inch slices and push them up into a treble hook. Now you can stop there, but one of my favorite additions to the old hot dog catfish bait is to get a mason jar several days before going fishing and putting the cut up (one inch slices) hot dogs into the mason jar. Then thoroughly cover the hot dogs with garlic salt. Put on the lid, shake the jar ever so often and keep in the fridge until ready to go fishing. Cats love 'em and I'm sure you will too.

Next on the list of catfish bait recipes is the grand-daddy of all catfish baits, and that is the time-tested chicken liver. People have been catching catfish on chicken livers since the beginning of time. The only problem with using them is that they are slimy and fall off the hook easily when casting out into the rivers and lakes. So here's a simple 20th century fix that will keep those chicken livers on the hook. If you own a dehydrator, you just cut out some wax paper to fit your dehydrator trays and then lay out the chicken livers flat onto the wax paper on the trays. The chicken livers will take about three days total to dry out. You want them to dry to the consistency of beef jerky, pliable yet dried. For an added plus, sprinkle some garlic salt over the chicken livers as they are drying. Another great catfish bait recipe that will have you cleaning catfish for supper.

The last catfish bait recipe I'll be offering here is for meat-eaters. Whenever your wife (or husband) is cooking any meat in the kitchen and there are trimmings to be taken from the meat, save those meat trimmings for catfish bait. I've even yanked in a few catfish in my days with just plain old chicken fat. I swear all catfish love garlic, so be sure to spread the garlic around whenever possible.

I hope these catfish bait recipes work as well for you as they have for me over the years. You'll never know how to catch catfish with homemade baits until you try, so give it a whirl the next time you go catfishing and see how it turns out for you. You may just reel in a record!
