Pasture Fence - How to Choose

Today there are many options for Pasture Fencing. A reputable Fence Supply Company will be happy to help you navigate all the new technological developments on the market, each with its own benefit. By thinking about your fencing project, your budget, and your needs, you should be able to determine which is right for you. The following are some of the new choices that were mostly unknown 50 years ago.

  • 1. Electric net fence - commonly from 2 to 4 ft. high, made from 8 to 15 horizontal lines of plastic twine with fine stainless steel conductors. There are plastic vertical spacers every 3 to 12 inches apart and the posts are built right into the portable fence. Used for sheep, goats, poultry, rabbits, coon, deer, cattle, horses, dogs, gardens, landscaping. An electric fence controller is required.

  • 2. Electric tape (ribbon) and rope with stainless and or copper conductors. Very Visible, Easy to install
    and move on rewind reels.

  • 3. High Tensile steel Fence Wire with extra heavy galvanization commonly lasts 20 to 40 years. It is also low cost.

  • 4. Fixed knot woven wire fencing up to 10 feet tall made with above H-T wire. Secure enough to raise deer inside this fence.

  • 5. Fiberglass and plastic step-in fence posts. No rust, fully insulated, easy to move.

  • 6. High Power Fence Chargers that can handle much more weed load.

  • 7. Plastic coated H-T steel wire for more visibility and safety especially for horses. Also in rails with the board look.

  • Now you're ready to buy your Pasture Fence. As a family farmer for 30 years I've used every fencing and post-setting tool out there. I even started a Farm Fence company to share the best products with my fellow farmers. We'll work hard to help you find the right tools for your fencing project.
